About Us
RUTS was founded in 1984 by Mike Tarter in Southern California. Mike was looking for some friends to ride with that were Christians. Not knowing anyone else at his church involved in off-road riding, he placed an add in Cycle News magazine. In February of 1984, the first RUTS meeting was held in Cypress, California. The Sumrall family of Foresthill, California started the RUTS North organization in the 1990's. Since then, other RUTS organizations have formed in the western states.

All are welcome to our monthly meetings as well as our club rides. God has given each of us special talents and interests. With our interest in riding and racing in the the deserts and forests, we have the responsibility of sharing God's Word with other riders. RUTS holds praise music and devotions at our club events.

What We Believe:
  • There is one God in the form of three persons. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ as God the Son, His virgin birth, His death at Calvary in our place on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, and His forthcoming return.
  • The Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, that all sinners are in the need of salvation, and the only hope for redemption is the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
